TOUCHING LIVES THIS FESTIVE SEASON.

Members are encouraged to donate their mite as we plan to visit the less privileged to touch their lives thie festive season. Prominent, among the places planned are motherless babies homes and correction centers. We also plan to visit our OVCs(Orphans and Vulnerable Children and Persons like widows). No amount is too small. All zonal leaders are encouraged to galvanize their members to respond to this. No amount is too small.  Secretary.

Partnership for Maternal and NewBorn Child Health Town Hall meeting.

The town hall meeting held on October 30th, was packaged in two sessions which highlighted the activities of the Executive and other partners. It was indeed as insightful as it was rewarding. Redeem Community Health Consult represented by our president, Dr. Ikechukwu Onyekwelonwu took time to address the unequal Representations at the World Health Assembly with particular reference to Africa. Update on avian influenza

The latest from the #AvianInfluenza situation report for 13/07 - 23/08: - 13 outbreaks in poultry and 52 in non-poultry birds and mammals, in 12 countries in the the Americas, Asia and Europe. - More than 1.6 million poultry birds died or were culled, mostly in the Americas. - The # of new outbreaks notified in birds is currently relatively low, which is consistent with the known seasonality of HPAI in poultry - The public health risk of influenza A(H5N1) viruses has been assessed to be low. UPDATE ON MONKEY POX!

At a well attended meeting today, members agreed to cooperate with government agencies and the community to assist in dissemination of information on monkey pox. The President used the opportunity to update members on the pathogenicity of the disease and preventions. Members were treated to light refreshments.  The executives were happy for the way members turned up for the meeting. We look forward for the next meeting coming up in a month's time. Registrar. Monkey Pox. Health workers and general public should look out for these in suspicious patients. Symptoms of #Mpox include: 🔹Fever 🔹Swollen lymph nodes 🔹Intense headaches 🔹Muscle and back pain 🔹Low energy 🔹Rash or blisters that appear 1-3 days after the fever and can appear anywhere on the body
